Bottom line is that if district tournament and regional tournament are single elimination then the state tournament should be as well. If it is going to stay double elimination then district and region should go to this format.
One pitcher can get you through district and region, but in a double elimination tournament if you loose a game and are forced to play multiple games in a day then that pitcher fades and can't get it done.
The district and region are set up to help small schools while the state tournament is set up to help larger schools except the occasional team that has that loaded group.
If the state tournament was only single elimination then a quality complex like Louisville or UK could be used.
Single elimination would also help smaller schools because they wouldn't have to play as many games to win a state title. If everything is set up to help smaller schools then do it across the board. Or go to two classes and make everyone seed.
Also, why don't the state step in and say every district must draw or every district must seed instead of having different schools playing in different types of tournament to get to the region?
Just some thoughts.
In the 15th Region 57th District you have possibly the three best teams in the region that will eliminate one another before the district final because of a blind draw. How does that help softball in the region?
