Yes this basketball situation is tied to the AD and the administration. It is their job to try and make a counter offer when the coach goes to them and tell them that he has several other schools making him offers can they guarantee him that he will have a teaching position this fall and they tell him they cannot guarantee him a position or they do nothing to try and persuade him to stay. Wouldn't you think that they, having a good coach such as cook, could have guaranteed a position and possibly a raise? No not this school. Now they have to start from scratch and try and find another coach that probably isn't half as qualified as cook and give him more money. This system does thing. "bass ackwards". On another note Cook is too smart to start bashing or bad mouthing the school system when they could possibly be references in the future. He is trying to leave on a good note which is a smart move regardless how they treated him. That's a class act. :Thumbs:

are you serious? a raise for doing what? have you seen how much the bball coach makes at lawrence? compare that to other places. you will be shocked. not putting him or the program down, but what have they won to deserve more money? district championships? regional titles? i'm being serious. i thought you achieve something and get rewarded for it.

he would have had a job in the county next year. there is no doubt of that. if you think they wouldn't have brought him back you are sadly mistaken again. his current position may not have been available, but he would have had a job if he wanted to stay.
