Of course the private schools have been at this for years, though you do hear tales of a few public schools doing deeds like this from time to time.
Ballard HS in Louisville is apparently notorious for somehow getting the top level players from other schools not just in Jefferson county. It is a pretty cheap way of going about fielding a HS softball team.
In the end, the parents are the biggest instigators and hold the majority of the blame.
