Then we take Valley who was 3-3 in district play this year losing to Belfry, Prestonsburg and SHELDON CLARK, compared to 2004 where Valley again went 3-3 in the district losing to Belfry, Prestonsburg, and PIKE CENTRAL. Our 2004 game with Valley could've went either way as it was a Triple Overtime ballgame AND the first game of the season (Pike County Bowl) We finished 3-3 in the district in 2004 under a system in which we were familiar with, and 2-4 in 2005 with a new offensive coordinater, new head coach, new line coach, new defensive coordinator. Give THIS COACHING STAFF three years to get these kids used to their system and their style of play,
(2004 was Poynters third year and we went 3-3 in District) and I can almost guarantee you that PC will have a much better district and overall record than that of the 2004 season. So our record may have been one more loss different than that of our 2004 season. But taking a step back? If anything, the Pike Central football program has taken a step forward by putting together an excellent coaching staff. You don't become a great team overnight, so all you PC fans just give it time, give this coaching staff a chance before saying they've taken a step back and such!
