If you're a player and choose not to play your hardest because you don't like the coach, you should quit the game. Period. You're not in it for the right reasons, in any sport. That's a very selfish comment to make. THAT would be your team chemistry killer.

I couldn't care less about Coach Gover staying or going. However, I do know that Taylor Gover was the ONLY one on that team that would put the ball in the basket at will on offense AND play lock-down defense. The other players were very 1-dimensional, but were great players at what they did. They would either put their focus on being great scorers on offense while mediocre on defense or playing great on defense while having a mediocre game on offense most of the time. The effort exerted by Gover as a player was never questioned in my mind game in and game out, but it was questioned with some of the others. I don't buy the "uncle-ball" (or daddy-ball) excuses some like to throw out because they're among the best 5-8 players to put on the floor.

I will listen to your opinion but put no value on it. You knowledge goes to middle school only. If you think gover was a better defender than Johnson, Gains, or Burton you went to even fewer games than I thought. If you know so much PC basketball, can you tell me how many players have left the program in the last 5 years? I can, this year alone 8 kids that were on the team in June are now gone, and it's that way every year. At some point some of you have to realize there is a problem. Have you had any discussions with former players or players playing now? I have, there is only so much negativity a kid can take, they need some positive every now and then. I feel silly telling you this with all your coaching experience. Bottom line is PC needs a new coach, I've seen it for 9 years now that's 8 to many.
