Belfry Pirates Vs Wayne Co. (3A State Championship 12/6/13)
Crossbones Wrote:Belfry can throw the ball, don't be fooled by the run game only. They are content with running the ball and moving the chains and controlling the clock. They throw to keep defenses honest. Also, every team that Belfry plays, stacks the box. It has done pretty good for them so far.

AtlPirateFan Wrote:Those who have played Belfry know what Belfry is going to do, without even needing to see the film. They are going to run, run some more and run some more. It's been that way for many moons and anyone who has played them will tell you it's hard to stop even if you know it's coming. Stacking the box rarely helps and when you do it you open yourself up for Belfry's serviceable but underused passing game. It was 2 quick passes to Keaton Taylor that finally opened up the Bourbon Co defense. The misconception is that Belfry can't pass, when the reality is they choose to use it sparingly.

Here's the difference is wayne co will put 9 in the box that will feel like 12 and they will still cover the pass. This is a really good defense probably the best defense Belfry will have seen all year it's not gonna be business as usual trust me on that. We all know Belfry "can" pass they just don't pass well and aren't confident in the pass and only use it as a last resort. Coming from a similar type of offensive school I understand how this hurts in the big games

With that said I feel like this will be the best run attack that Wayne has seen all year and that it will give them fits

now I don't have a horse in this race I'm just pointing out some facts
