BCS Scenarios
#2
Don't everyone jump at once :big grin:. If OSU and FSU lose next week there will be at least 7 one loss teams in FBS and one undefeated in Northern Illinois if they win their conference championship games.

Yes this is the time of year most cry foul and are unhappy with whether their favorite conferences, teams, strength of schedule, computer vs. human, blah, bluh, nah, nah, etc…

The 4 game playoff next year would not remedy this years scenario of a potential situation where FSU and OSU lose or win. So how do you handle 5-8 one loss teams and an undefeated from a mid major? Take the path of the Division II and III folks. Even under a scenario where both OSU and FSU win, how do you determine who the 3rd and 4th team will be. There could be 4 one loss teams to choose from.

Award an automatic bid for each of the 10 fbs conference champs. Have 6 at large bids to accommodate the rest of the contenders. There will be 15 total games each bowl sponsored. The BCS bowl games rotate the NC game to keep the money bags happy.

Between limiting non-conference games and not having a 15-30+ days between the last regular season game and a bowl game. There will be plenty of time.

Division 2 and 3 have been doing this with great success for years.
