What do you look forward to, what's on the menu, what do you dislike if anything, what are favorite traditions?
I'll get us rolling.
My in-laws host a 20+ family gathering with all the usual fix ins. A cousin-in-law makes the best mashed taters. Some great combo of garlic, sour cream, and vitamin D milk. The wife makes a mean chocolate pecan pie ( heavy on the chocolate :yum: ) and with plenty of Cool Whip.
I'm entrusted to carve the birds, it takes two and am enlisted to determine how much gravy to make based on how dry or not the bird is ( my Mother-in-law is a renown dry bird producer ). I love the company and the food. I'm really looking forward to seeing my less than 6 month old nephew. Even if just to hold him for a few minutes. I'm a sucker for babies and love being an Uncle.
Speaking of uncles, my wifes uncle is a notorious silent but violent fart machine. The man can clear a room like no other. This would be my only dislike nicker:.
We'll have a home full of family, some of their friends and loved ones and will give God the glory for our blessings, growth, freedom, understanding, and purpose! I always look forward to my Father-in-Laws prayer.
Once the tryptophan kicks in I'll be in a recliner asleep for at least a half hour while watching the Lions or Dallas.
Folks, have a blessed Thanksgiving, be good to yourselves, have a meal, love on your family/friends, be mindful and thankful. God bless you BGR.
