Do you see schools combining in Floyd or Pike County? The only school that I could see maybe consolidating with another school in Pike County is Phelps and that is doubtful IMO because they are so far away from any other high school...the obivious schools would be Belfry or East Ridge but that would be a long drive to either school. The current setup in Pike County is pretty good. East Ridge, Pike Central, and Shelby Valley are all very nice schools and all have good athletic facilities. Belfry's new school and athletic facilities are awesome and I feel Pikeville is a very nice school with good athletic facilities, esp. for a small city school.

I don't see any more schools in Pike County combining because now they are so widespread. It was ideal for Feds Creek, Elkhorn, and Millard to combine. All three were pretty small schools and by combining them, they have made a great school. We now have a bigger facility, better athletic programs, and an oppurtunity to meet more people, have better classes, better labs, and etc. Phelps is something like an hour's drive from East Ridge sooo I seriously doubt that they will consolidate with anyone.. I like the setup and think that the 3 schools you named have awesome set ups. The schools, surroundings, and everything are in good shape. They are multi million dollar schools. Belfry got a new school and had millions spent on it so I mean, of course that is extremely nice as well. Pikeville's school is still in good shape, it is in a good central location for the city, they had a great field, and keep producing amazing athletes and academic students.
