Stoops: Should've stayed at Florida State I'm kidding. It's not a surprise, it's hard to turn a losing program into a winner in the nation's best conference in one year. But next season has to have some improvement or the last 2 strong recruiting classes won't have much behind them.

I think both sides won with Stoops leaving. FSU's D may not have as much talent on this roster, but is doing more with less. New DC, Jeremy Pruitt's, scheme has the Noles forcing infinitely more turnovers than under Stoops and is doing so without the NFL DL that started last season and a very undersized LB core.

Stoops, no doubt, elevated the FSU D to the top of the country, but Pruitt has freshmen all over the secondary and veterans in new positions, and is still making the FSU one of the better in the nation.
