Ask anyone who knows me even just a little bit, and they will confirm that I have never been one who fits the mold. My home reflects my and my husband's personality, our likes and dislikes. I don't care if anything matches or is appropriate to use..in other folk's opinion.

My husband has "decorated" (for lack of a better word) most of our home, i.e. my kitchen table has been his office for the last 20 years and computers dot the entire living room and kitchen, etc.

But, I have a special place in my living room. My grandmother's old treadle sewing machine that still works, an antique glass milk bottle and the Christmas tree that my sister in law, and best friend, finished for me a couple weeks before she died with ovian cancer, at age 49. You get the picture.

The newest addition to my special corner is an antique lighted clock. It is at least 50 years old; probably more like 60, and is from a dairy that used to be located at Baxter. My father worked in the coal mines from the time he and my mother married until he went to work at Chappell's Dairy. Most of my childhood memories are those when he worked there. He retired and the dairy sold soon afterward. My father died in 1980, at age 56.

This clock is gorgeous, and brings back so many wonderful and warm memories of my early and late childhood. It has a special place in my special corner....I love it so much!!

I wanted to post this along with the picture, just to draw attention to my very special friend, who restored this clock and presented it to me at the Harlan/Johnson Central football game earlier in the year.
