Anybody catch the interview on the CBS news last night from Scott Duncan?? He's a coal miner, or at least WAS a coal miner, and went from $80K/year to selling the title of his car for grocery money.....all in the time span of two weeks.

We've lost over a thousand jobs in our county in the past month. Things are going from bad to worse, economically speaking. Scott graduated with my daughter in 1992, he was always a character in school. Typically, he was the class clown and avoided homework at all costs. I was a little worried about him, and had lost touch with him over the years.

I was glad to see that Scott was a hard working family man. He married a gorgeous woman, and they have three teen aged children. His interview was sincere and articulate.

I was also thankful that he was chosen for the national interview, and not some cave dwelling Neanderthal that would normally be chosen. I thought he represented the Harlan County coal miner very well!!

Good luck Scott, and all the other hard working folks who have recently found themselves out of work.
