2013 KYMSFA Membership List & Divisional Classifications
#79
KMSFA2

Favoritism was clearly the wrong word to use. The KMSFA is a well-run organization. Who have done many positive things for middle school football and Kentucky Football! Better would to be use would be inequity. If you review last year’s brackets you can clearly see inequity with the Region alignment, competitive balance of each region and division placement of teams.
Looking at last year’s bracket you will see D2 Region 1 only has a 2 team bracket and Region 4 had 9 team brackets. I understand you will disagree saying something relating to logistics as the factor. However, in Region 4 alone they was possible match up (Boyd County & Corbin) where at team would have to travel over 4 hours on a bus for a game. I would hope the association would look back on that decision of Regional Alignment and see their error.
I reviewed the KDE SAARS and Scott County Middle School would all fall in D 3 under my proposal.
However, reviewing Harlan County it would not work. Harlan County has 8 elementary schools with low numbers. Re-thinking the situation I guess I would use the KDE SAARS also. However, I would divide all middle school up evenly as possible in each division with regional alignments built on competitive balance and logistics as major factors.
