Say that coach retires after this season and his team wins 10 games, that would put him at 611 all time wins. Say Belfry wins 13 games this year. That would put Coach Haywood's all time wins at 374. If Coach Haywood remains the coach at Belfry, Belfry would have to average 10 wins per season for the next 24 years in order to become the all time winningest coach in the nation. Say they didn't lose a game (they went undefeated including state championship) which we all know is pretty much impossible even though that's what we all want, he would have to coach another 16 seasons to reach that goal. That would be just crazy. I don't know exactly how old Coach Haywood is put I'm sure he's around 62 or 63 so that would put him around 80 coaching if he wanted to break that record.
Coach could care less about those wins....Coach wakes up every morning just wanting to make young boys better as men....And he does that very well....Now years later i see that playing football at BELFRY was alot more than sacking a QB or catching a touchdown pass....
