Their superintendent resigned this morning which came to a surprise to everyone

Not much of a surprise really. It's been rumored all summer that he was going to Breathitt in a central office role. His wife already works there and it is assumed he will take over as the new superintendent when Hammonds leaves at the end of the state management period.
