Most IT firms could not care less what kind of degrees and certificates that you hold if you are a talented programmer. Degrees and certification get your foot in the door for your first job or two, but after that your success depends mostly on your job performance. It will be interesting to read about Snowden's background, but I expect the Obama administration to wage a well funded smear campaign against him. That is the Chicago way.
