I'm not saying he can't recruit.. He's the best at it.. Using the rules that are in place now.. But you put a 2-3 year rule in place and he won't get as many 5*s as he is now. Again,, the players are wanting to get to the league as fast as they can. And Cal has shown he can get them there faster than anyone.. Put a 2 year rule in effect,, and the players are gonna look at other schools more because you take the getting to the league in one year out of the equation.. He will still get his share of top players,, but not as many as with a 2-3 year rule.. Cal does care for his players,, he advises his players if their not a lotto pick to look at staying another year to improve their stock.. But he knows getting them a guaranteed contract is in their best interest.. And I don't listen to anything Matt Jones says.. Don't like the man.. If the major teams breaks away into their own conference,, the Moreheads,, WKUS and EKUs are screwed..

With a 2-3 year rule in effect for all teams, he would still get players there as fast as they can. With a one year rule, the field is level. With a 2-3 year rule, the field is still level. All teams have the same rules. The years that a player has to play, to me, doesn't look like it would make any difference. Cal would still get them ready as fast as he could. He is the best coach around to get players to the next level, no matter the years it takes to get each player there. Don't take this as me being an "all in" Cal fan, I'm not. But, he is good at what he does best, recruiting, and getting players to the NBA at the fastest possible rate. And, he fits the UK system as good as anybody alive, right now.
