Lawrence Co vs Magoffin County 3/15/13

good game. tough watching it as you are running back and forth to the vehicle to warm up. Confusednicker: will this weather ever break? the magoffin kid throws harder this year than last year. when i watched him pitch last year he was upper 70's topping out at maybe 82-83. seemed like last night he was 80 topping out at 85. still lawrence battled him and ran his pitch count high, sprinkled in a few hits, ran the bases, and put pressure on the magoffin defense which paid off. crucial error with 2 outs in the 5th by their RF. opened up the scoring for LCHS. the Wallen kid through as hard as the Blanton kid in my opinion. he looked really tough. like i said earlier, lawrence has 3 arms that are low to mid 80's especially when the weather turns warmer. one of those arms is a freshman. 15th better be ready for him from what i've been told and seen thus far. ask prestonsburg and belfry hitters that faced him.

lawrence's senior catcher Clark Rice also had a great game. going 3-4. hit a ball that was crushed, but these bats stink or it was a HR. Blanton as well crushed a ball in the 2nd that is a no doubt HR to left field with the old bats.
