Coal: Cleanest energy source?
#14
Granny Bear Wrote:I paid the highest EVER utilility bill last month. We are very mindful about conserving energy, and it's just the two of us. It really chaps my butt that so much progress toward cleaner energy was done on so little money.

If we took away all the free cell phones, and applied just that program toward the coal industry, it would touch millions of people and save millions of dollars. Why is that so difficult to understand?

Unlike so many welfare programs, this one is carved out in such a way that anyone can see exactly how much they personally pay or, how much money is extorted, from their phone bill, which is then used by the government to provide free phones for no-works. It's known as the "Universal Service Fund fee." And as is the case in every last federal program known to exist, the federal cell phone program is woefully mismanaged and rife with abuse and fraud. The following excerpt comes from a very revealing article out in Oklahoma;
EXCERPT --- OKLAHOMA CITY -
If you pay a phone bill, you're paying for a program that's losing millions each year to waste, fraud and abuse. A formerly homeless man, who didn't want to be named, showed us his duffle bag full of phones, and said he has another bag just like it at home, for a total of more than 20 phones collected in the last year. "I just find somebody that needs a phone, that don't have a phone, and I sell it to them for about 10, 15, 20 bucks," he said.

There isn't a single example in existence, of a government run program that isn't a joke by comparison to private sector commerce. I would challenge anybody to give even one example of a well run viable federal program in existence today. There just isn't one to be found. So, based on that undisputed truth, we as a people, have let folks like the guy in the article who said this "It's free. There ain't no catch to it. Who cares?" out vote conservatives again in the last election. Thanks to elections like the ones of the last two presidential cycles, we have ObamaCare, exploding numbers of disabled folks, 50 million plus on food stamps, ramped up tax payer funded abortions on demand, despite Obama's oath to America that ObamaCare would never pay for abortions (remember the resistance put up by Senator Ben Nelson from Nebraska and the resultant CornHusker Kickback?) and many other programs to pay for.

The point is, what government did to "Lifeline" they will do to their idea of universal health care. We are in real trouble, in that the health care we gave our entire 'working life' to achieve, is very likely gone, destined to be divided up and passed out among the listless. 20 cell phone toting jokers on the street will be ushered up for their care like Kings, and we of the "destined to be shorn crowd" will get what ever quality of care , table scraps, that may be left over. And, to all the slugs out there who couldn't care less if it snowed straight up it will go like this, "It's free. There ain't no catch to it. Who cares?" Seriously, who does care? Well, I know I do, are there any others out there?

With the coming of the Obama ascension to power, came the end of America as we knew it growing up and through the days of George W.. On it's head, is anything familiar. No longer does hard work and responsible living separate one from the throngs of people who only know they want things. From now on, giving one's self to provide for one's family is suddenly a passe and laughable notion for the simple minded. Why knock yourself out working for something liberal democrats are giving away, right? I still have my doubts that the average American, has any idea what the "fundamental transformation" of the Obama vision is really about and what it will mean to their style of living. When he said he believes that money should be redistributed, he meant from now on folks with money would have it taken away from them under the guileful social misnomer liberals affectionately call, the act of "doing your fair share." Translated, that means something like this; Your government embedded liberal speaking truthfully about the redistribution of wealth --- "We here in America have millions of people to take care of, many millions. Therefore, be it known from this day forward, that if you have any money, you may expect much of it to be ripped away in the form of various taxes and fees, in order that your federal government may pass it out to those who will not work for what they want and need." To prove we Americans have become full fledged zombies, Obama was able to win a second term as president.

The mid-terms of 2014 may represent our last hope and opportunity (if opportunity still exists) to stave off the full effects of the liberal onslaught to our great country.
