Kobe has always had the ability to pass - the problem has always been his selfish attitude. He is a phenomenal shooter when he is open and there is no reason for him not having a career FG% around 50 percent.
The fact that Kobe has recently decided to try to play team ball does not absolve him of helping dig a hole from which the Lakers will not likely escape this season. There is a reason that the Big O said years ago that if any current NBA player might average a triple-double for an entire season, it would be Lebron, not Kobe. Kobe is an unsolvable chemistry problem.
