He doesn't turn 55 until the end of October this year. He has enough years to retire though. He would draw more if he waits until he turns 55. It's a pretty big cut if you go early.

From what im hearing now with buyouts around this area is you pretty much get your insurance paid for. After that, you draw next to nothing. The only way someone would be able to retire early is if they let you draw unemployment while your job paid for the insurance.
If you cant do that, its nearly impossible to retire early with the economy.
