That's what I was thinking.

They could definitely save a lot of money going with him by not having to get a teaching job, too. On the flip side, unless there are a lot of assistants in the building, they might want their HC in the building as well? Then again, I think the value of that isn't as big as what's thought to be believed either. It's just the common thing to say.

But, being retired could mean he could actually come in, roam the halls and actually be more visible than just being stuck at the end of one hall like most all teachers.

I know some head coaches who are "in the building", and maybe only see a handfull of their players all day long. But....^^^ sounds good.

However, being "in the building", and having a weight lifting class that's offereed to all athletes (highest percentage kids who are most likely to come out for football if they aren't already), and lunchroom duty (where you literally are visible to the entire student body everyday)? Now, those are some things that actually put some validity to being "in the building."
