Lakers don't need to do anything right now.
They have a lot of big and unmoveable contracts.
Dwight's expires at the end of the season and I wouldn't recommend putting a franchise on his back.
Kobe will retire after next year and Pau (if he is still there) will also be out of his contract.
If no one signs an extension before their contracts expire - the Lakers will have a huge offseason in 2 years.
They have given up all their draft picks. They'll have to play with the pieces that they brought until then.
However, losing isn't something they take lightly in LA. They have been known to play for the here and now instead of playing for the future.
