I think the other Paintsville fans will agree with me, as will the Shelby Valley fans that winning the state championship in KY is special. Any championship is special obviously but something about winning a tournament that consists of all schools of all classes and of all areas. There is a mystique in knowing that for one year a little team from the mountains was the best in the state, that they were better than the Louisville teams, and Better then the lex teams. From Pikeville to Paducah no one could top that team when it mattered, on one of the most storied floors in all of basketball in front of 20,000 or more people they beat all comers and proved their worth to the state.
