There is several factors that go into it, #1 being population of area to draw kids from, ex: 6th, 7th, 11th regions. #2 having a group of solid players together for several years growing up playing together against better comp. to make them better, usually during the summer ex: Elliott Co, Shelby Co. #3 Having an Elite level player to put the team over the top ex: Rose Hill, Mason Co. I know everybody thinks this kid and that kid from their area is elite but don't get confused there aren't that many of them if not nationally a top 100-150 kid and thats a strech. this applys to all regions in terms of weak or strong.

You are correct, 16th Lion. There have not been many really elite players in Kentucky in the last twenty years. There have been, I believe history clearly shows, only possibly three who have played for a school in the 16th Region during that time- one played at Fairview, one played two years at Rose Hill, and one played one-half a season at Rose Hill. If I missed one, I'm sure posters will let me know. However, I'm talking about elite- not good. There are many merely good players all over the place.
