Patch is correct. The variables like draw, time of play, and lack of seeding, and one team (weak and strong) from each region add to the mystic of the tournament. And, there is always the chance of a Cinderella team going deep into the tournament.

For example, it surprised most everyone when Rowan County, a relatively lightly regarded team, made it to the championship two years ago. On the other hand, no one was really surprised when Louisville Trinity walked through the tournament last year. All in all, it makes for an interesting few days and is a good diversion from the real world problems of the day.
