^Agreed...we do the same thing...have the crazy extended family bought presents for you in the past? what's the expectation if any? if not, don't sweat it and if you get caught off guard and they give you a present/s, have cash and a card/s ready as a fallback.

You can always buy lunch or dinner if need be.

Crazy family members do not bring gifts. The expectation is that only kids and grandparents get gifts. I only get gifts from my Parents and Mother-in-law.

If we decided to exchange gifts at the adult level, pretty sure I would end up with an outdated NASCAR hat that you buy at a gas station.
