As always, semi automatic weapons become the culprit. In that setting (school) this fool could have killed just as many with a pump shotgun and a machete.

Millions of Americans own semi automatic firearms. Many of them enjoy range shooting as a hobby. Many may even believe the "need" them.

For whatever reason a law abiding person/family wants or haves semi automatic firearms, whether assault type or what, is none of yours or anyone elses business. That's my opinion.

I figure the ban of magazines/clips of more than five is on the horizon. That way only people like this murderer will have them while law abiding citizens won't. Drug cartels, gangs, mass murderers and the like will have them or make them themselves. Does banning them make sense to you?

There is a need for real discussion on preventing things like this from happening in the future. Sadly, there is no way to completely stop it. It is my opinion that banning semi automatic/assault weapons is not where the disscussion needs to begin.

Just a thought...If this school had a semi automatic weapon locked in the office where trained staff could have gotten to it when the fool started shooting his way through the door, would there have been a better chance that less lives would have been lost? Just thinking outside the box.

How would he of gotten the guns without his mother buying them ?

Yes the elementary should have been armed. That's what I'm saying regulate who has such weapons.
