[Hit and Run]

Bowling had a very nice game, 19 and 12 I believe. This is his 2nd year playing organized basketball since grade school. Clay County has the best player in the region (McDaniel), the most physically gifted player (Reed) and the two biggest surprises in Rice and Bowling. Add 2 yr starter Lyttle and the two most athletic freshmen in maybe the mountains and you've got a team that will be tough once they come together. Nobody over 6'3 is there only downfall, but there guards are big and athletic enough to help carry the load rebounding and defensively. Can't wait to see them play North and Harlan Co.

Watched this team for the third time Saturday night. While the freshman are freaky athletic, their basketball IQ is dismal and they are lacking in the effort department. The IQ part is expected since they are only freshman, but the lack of effort extremely surprised me. I feel that this teams path will be dictated by the play of Rice. If the kid continues to play well and get better I think they are serious contenders. If not, then they will have an absolute dogfight to make it to the second week of the postseason.
