I think I need to finally post a response as well. I started this thread to post updates on the book I was writing about the 1996 State Champion Paintsville Tigers and the subsequent guest articles that I was writing about this process for the Ashland Daily.

I have no "dog" in this fight, but does it really matter if a display did exist claiming someone was a McDonald's All-American? How does it relate to the thread?

I do know this, Harry Meek was a tremendous player. Comparisons to players decades apart can never be measured. The game, especially in basketball, changes. Styles change. Systems change. Players develop under new/different training techniques, etc.

Could we please drop the discussion that has taken over the thread and let it return to discussions about the book and the articles that I've written? I'd appreciate it!!
