Ashland will have a better defense than last season, but with all of JC's returning starters, they should be able to top Ashland for the best defense in the district.

On offense, Ashland will be installing a new offensive system, and will be dealing with a QB controversy. They may get the offensive rolling by the end of the season, but it will take a while for the adjustments. The line will be much improved with the best 3 linemen from last year's team returning.

As of my now my 3A District 8 Predictions look like this:

1. Johnson Central
2. Ashland
3. Mason County
4. Lawrence County

3A District 8 Predictions:

1. Rockcastle County
2. Clay County (a stretch, but I really liked the upcoming talent I saw on the Tigers)
3. Bell County (when was the last time Bell had to travel in the 1st round of the playoffs?)
4. Madison Southern

I look for Rockcastle to be the class of the region again next season, and a state title contender as the return almost their entire roster from last season.
