Not an expert by any means, but this team seems to lack the fire of the last several teams...again, not in the loop and hope I am wrong.

I think what he was trying to say is that bad things happen when you cant throw strikes and beat yourself with walks rather than allowing them to reach base from a hit.


I will say this. I thought it was very difficult for either team to throw strikes, especially early on, because what is normally a strike, was not necessarily one today. There was nothing at the knees or on the outside corners that was called. The strike zone seemed to favor the high pitch. But it was consistant and everybody just had to learn where this ump's zone was. I would refer to it as a hitter's zone today.
