This election will be a referendum on Obama's performance as president. All I need to know about Romney is that he is a capitalist who believes in American values. I know that Obama is a polarizing socialist who trashes traditional American values at every opportunity and whose policies are destroying our economy.

You cannot simultaneously say that there is no difference between the policies of Democrats and Republicans on the one hand and criticize Democratic fiscal policy on the other. Not all Republicans are fiscal conservatives but almost all fiscal conservatives are Republicans. Ron Paul is a Republican.

Which is it - are they one party with two names or are there important differences between the two parties philosophies? It cannot be both.

Yes, they do and those who do are Republicans. Name a fiscal conservative who is a Democrat currently serving in Congress or in the Obama administration. Just one.
