BOWLING: The first area Kentucky High School Athletic Association regional bowling tournaments start at 9 a.m. Saturday with the Region 5 team tournament at La Ru Lanes in Highland Heights. The girls’ competition begins at 9 a.m., and the boys start at 1 p.m.

The Region 5 individual competition is 9 a.m. March 17 at La Ru Lanes. The boys compete at 9 a.m. and the girls at 1 p.m. that day.

The Region 6 team tournament is 4 p.m. Tuesday at Super Bowl in Erlanger. The individual competition is March 15, also at Super Bowl.

The top two teams and top four boys’ and girls’ bowlers not on those teams advance to the state tournament March 22-23 in Louisville. The state individual competition is March 22, while the teams compete March 23.
