LINCOLN COUNTY
Coach: Cassandra McWhorter.
Last trip to State: 2001 (lost to Henderson County 56-48 in first round).
What to look for: This game is all about contrasting styles. “We have to pressure the basketball,” McWhorter said. “Hopefully, we can get some turnovers early.”
Key player: Fox is one of the state’s top junior guards. “I think she’s one of the best players to come out of Lincoln County, if not the best,” McWhorter said. “She can definitely play at the (NCAA) Division I level. She has unlimited range. Her range starts at halfcourt.”
Coach-speak: “It’s a big accomplishment,” McWhorter said of winning the region. “I think we have one of the toughest regions in the state.”

CLAY COUNTY
Coach: James Burchell.
Last trip to State: 2011 (lost to Rockcastle County 47-30 in quarterfinal).
What to look for: It will be a battle of tempos. The Lady Tigers — making their fourth straight appearance in the Sweet 16 — would prefer a half-court, grind-it-out type of game. “They (Lincoln County) want to get it up and down the floor,” Burchell said.
Key player: Chesnut, a 5-foot-8 senior, sat out half the season with a foot injury but returned in time for the district tournament. Burchell said Chesnut is ready to play a full game.
Coach-speak: “We have to get the ball into the post against them,” Burchell said.
