Oh my gosh I can not wait for baseball season to start. I love the buzz that is around the team this year, and I can not wait to see how they respond to the added pressure. everyone around the organization has smells that a pennant is so close but this team just has to come out and play to their potential!! Bring on the hitters and position players and lets get this season started!!!
Latos, will be such a huge story this year for the Reds. I think most people are not expecting him to have a great year, but with the offensive support that the Reds can give him, he WILL have a wonderful season and should help push Cincy to the playoffs.
Cueto, should give us exactly what we expect. I think that a possible 18-20 win season is not out of the realm of possibility for him. He will be the catayst for a solid season/playoff push and really should be in the all-star game (without question). Him and Latos should be about as formitable of a 1-2 punch that will be around the laegue.
Chapman, will be the absolute biggest question of the season for the organization. So much buzz has been generated because of him but unless his control is zeroed in, he can not have too much of an impact in the course of the season. He can really blow batters away with his speed, but when he loses the accuracy, it can be a little frustrating to see him lose hitter after hitter, walk after walk, leading to run after run. If he has perfected his raw ability, he can be an amazing X factor.
Leake, this is a defining year for Leake. He has been solid throughout his first two years in the league, but has been a little limited by his youth (tired arm). This may be the first true full season that we get to see for the youngest from Arizona State. A strong year from him can mean a lot of great in the long run, his contract, impact for the team, status on the team will all be determined throughout the course of the season!
Arroyo, I hope we can expected the 2010 year form Arroyo instead of the frustrated, hit-fest that was the 2011 campaign. With a pitcher like Arroyo, age should not be a major factor until later on. Finesse pitchers rely on control, which does not mean speed and over powering ability to get batters out. I think that he is in a good situation to redefine his game and regain his solid composer from 2010. Arroyo is about as reliable as a pitcher can get and you can bet on him to go out there and eat up innings for you. So judging with our amazing bullpen this year, Arroyo is a guy that can end up spelling a particular pitching in the pen and give them rest. I like his role within the pitching staff, now we just have to have him perform to the best of his abilities.
Bullpen, will be one of the biggest difference from last year to this year. They are solid throughout the whole entire bullpen and it should be eveident as they they begin to rely on them mosre and more.
