Eight state champions completed undefeated seasons — Henry Clay's Mike Whalen (106 pounds, 44-0); Union County's Trae Blackwell (113, 37-0) and Brock Ervin (126, 31-0); Campbell County's Yenter (65-0), Stephen Myers (19-0) and Austin Myers (19-0); Simon Kenton's Kevin Cooper (145, 68-0); and Johnson Central's J.J. Jude (170, 53-0).
