The Lady Gators scored the first eight points and cruised from there, improving to 21-7, 6-2 in district play.
Greenwood forward Raven Perks scored eight of her 10 points in the opening period, helping the Lady Gators build a 14-7 advantage.
GHS continued to pull away, stretching the margin to 33-12 by halftime and leading by as many as 24 points in the second half. Greenwood shot 42 percent from the field, 50 percent in the opening half, and held Warren Central (13-12, 4-4) to 19.3 percent shooting from the field.
Molly Lamb finished with 10 points for Greenwood, while Alexis Dean added nine points.
âI thought in the first half we executed our offense very well,â Greenwood coach Todd Tolbert said. âMolly had an off night as far as point production, but everybody on the team was involved. Thatâs what I expect at this point in the season.â
Tia Barnett had eight points to lead the Lady Dragons. Leading scorer Tierra Rigsby had two points and did not play in the second half.
Warren Central coach Chris Stunson was disappointed in the way his team played in a game that is a preview of next weekâs District 14 Tournament, he said.
âWe definitely canât get any momentum from this game, but we can learn from it,â Stunson said. âWe learned that when you do things the Warren Central way, it works. When you do things individually, it doesnât work. That was the story of the night. We did a lot of things individually. We didnât play team defense and Greenwood played very well as a team.â
