The reason i believe we dont drill here is so that when all of these other countries in the future run out of oil and were the only ones left with oil, we'll hold the entire woorld in the palm of our hands.

However, times are tough. Americans are starving and unemployed.
Screw the future, were living right now. Drill that shit.

The reason that we are not drilling our own oil reserves and mining more of our own coal is that Obama, Clinton, and Carter have pandered to the lunatic fringe of the Democratic Party. The environmental wacko wing would oppose drilling if the nation's survival depended on it. What that means is that each time somebody like Obama or Carter gets elected, they have to find additional national resources to place off limits for development. When they can't do so through legislation, they do their damage through executive orders and the EPA.
