Tyler Combs, Lineman/Lawrence County
#1
A repeat first-team choice, the 6-foot-5, 285-pound Combs is a four-year starter.

Combs, whose nickname is “Big Country,” started on both sides of the ball for two seasons and had 65 tackles, returning his only interception 37 yards for a TD. On offense, he anchored a line that opened holes for a 2,594-yard rushing attack that had four running backs with more than 400 yards.

“He rarely if ever came off the field and showed great effort and leadership for our team,” coach Joey Cecil said. “He was a big reason that we had a chance to run the football this season.

“He has great feet to go along with his size. But he also has a little bit of nastiness to him. He likes to play the game and he likes to be physical.”

Combs committed to Marshall and will sign in February.
