Central couldn't block Belfry up front and the Pirates were hitting the backs in the backfield with 2 or 3 defenders nearly every play. Could he have reached 100 yards?

Most certainly... Wales is such a strong runner and makes such good cuts he could've broke a long one and shed the contact. Belfry did a pretty bang up job on JJ Jude and he still went for 120+ because he was able to break a long one to help his stats.

Does this mean he definitely would have? Not necessarily... the Pirates were finely tuned to shut down the run that game and were playing with a chip on their shoulder. According to some on here in the lead up, the Central backups were not a huge dropoff from Wales and they were essentially shut down.

We will never know because Dixon lit him up early.

Judging from the 247 he got when he was healthy I'd say 100 would have been way to realistic. A bunch of you guys are making it seem like Central lost. Central football alumni do not even get excited any more over the 3a championship. We would have much rather beaten the 3 6a powers that combined to beat us by 6 points !
