It's a touchy line, but the original question was "legal", sorry, a privileged sport participation and legal are light years from being relevant enough to fight in court. Good luck to the player and his family in that battle against a school, they won't win!

Tell that to every "transfer" who has fought a KHSAA decision of ineligiblity in court and found a local judge somewhere crooked enough to interfere in the business of the rightful state athletic authority...

I personally totally agree the courts should not interfere in any matters of high school sports, with the exception of criminal charges (e.g. the thumb tack incident, assault on an official, etc.)
