I am arguing that this year's BG team could not have improved enough in one year to be able to defeat last year's BG team by 50 or more points. That is the kind of improvement it would have taken to even be competitive with Highlands this year. The Birds are as good (perhaps even a little better) this year.

First, I don't believe (and I don't think even Highlands supporters believe) that they were 50 points better than Christian County. They beat them by that much, but the Colonels also laid down in the second half, and really I would say laid down from the instant they didn't get the score at the end of the first half. 30-35 points better, yes, 50, no. Same way people are indicating they don't think Bowling Green is 42 points better than John Hardin, but they damn sure were last night.

Here's what I'll tell you. Warren Central this year was better than last year's team. Not by a wide margin, but I believe they were better. Defense got worse, but the offense improved by about double. The Dragons beat BG by 3 last year. They lost by 21 and 33 this year to the Purples. That is a marked difference. If there were no other examples I could give you, I think that would be enough to show you a huge difference.

The common opponent these two teams had should tell you the difference between them is not wide. Earlier this year before Bowling Green played Lexington Catholic, you and a couple of others predicted Catholic would beat BG, and if not, that Highlands would easily exceed the difference (one poster predicted if BG won by 3-4 TDs then Highlands would get a running clock). Now that we have the margins (BG by 18, Highlands by 21) and it doesn't look the way you thought, everyone has just reverted back to the "Highlands beat the WKY teams by this much" argument they always do.

It's not that I don't understand why you guys have your mindset, but I do believe you are so locked into the past results that you are not paying attention to this year.
