Player to watch: Senior Asia Nichols, a 5-6 guard/forward, averaged 16 points and earned second-team All-Seventh Region honors last season.
Other top players: G/F Jade Spaulding (5-5, So.); G Chalyse Taylor (5-3, Sr.); F Jalin Abernathy (5-9, Jr.); F Alexys Nash (5-4, Sr.).
Outlook: Charleston took over as coach last season and led the Lady Eagles to their first winning campaign since 2006-07. Eastern must replace three graduated seniors. Nichols is a strong leader, and Charleston expects Abernathy to emerge as one of the regionâs top players.
