Coach: Edwin DeJesus (first year).
Last season: 2-16, did not play in postseason.
Player to watch: Dynessia Johnson, a 5-6 senior guard/forward, averaged 4.9 points, 4.8 rebounds and 3.0 steals last season.
Other top players: G/F Ana Zapata (5-6, Jr., 3.7 ppg, 2.6 rpg, 2.9 spg); G Deâja Miller (5-5, So., 1.8 ppg, 2.6 rpg); C Mariah Curtis (5-9, So., 1.3 ppg, 4.2 rpg); G Jaiara Simpson (5-5, Fr.).
Outlook: DeJesus, a former assistant who replaced Kendria Rice-Locket, is pleased with the progress of Johnson and Zapata and is excited about the addition of six freshmen. He said Simpson âhas the potential to be the best freshman St. Francis has ever had.â
