Last season: 30-6, lost to Rowan County 51-49 in Sweet 16 semfinals.
Player to watch: F Derek Willis (6-9, Jr., 14.0 ppg., 9 rpg.).
Other top players: G Rusty Troutman (6-5, Jr., 8.5 ppg., 7.0 rpg.); G Trey Rakes ( 5-10, Jr., 8.0 ppg., 6 apg.); G Kory Caufield (6-2, Sr., 5.2 ppg.; F Reese Hardin (6-2, Sr., 3.2 ppg., 2.2 rpg.); F Elliot Young (6-6, Jr.).
Outlook: The Chargers return three starters in Willis, Troutman and Rakes, but graduated two outstanding players in 6-7 Corey Washburn and high-scoring Hayden Sweat. âThe senior class lacks experience and must improve and produce for us to compete for the region,ââ Barr said. âWe would like to be nine deep by the end of January. The progression of Young will determine how good we will be.ââ
