This isnt a eample of consolidation, instead a new school.

In Laurel County, theyve been talking about opening up a new high school in the county called West Laurel i believe.
Its been talked about for a while now, but North and South Laurel are overcrowded and they are two of the biggest schools in 5A.
If a new school opens, you could see 3 3A or 4A teams going at it and IMO one of them will get all of the athletes and dominate smaller schools in lower classes.

A similar situation just happened here in Shelby Co. Shelby Co. was overcrowded and Collins was built. We now have a 5A and a 4A schools in the county. Like you are predicting with the Laurel Co. schools, Collins got all the athletes.
