The ocassional win at the Sweet Sixteen does not count, and if you want to count the regions outside of Loiusville amd Lexington, the 2nd Region has had 3 Sweet Sixteen Champions in the last 26 years. Hopkinsville in 1985, University Heights in 1992, and Christian County is the defending State Champion team right now. Then there is the University Heights dominated All A Classic, which they have won 9 times. The 2nd Region has a current Wildcat in Jon Hood, and one of more memorable Wildcats in Travis Ford.

Im pretty sure that Shelby Valley one state in 2009 with the help if Justice...thats mountain born and bred
