Cal: Light goes on for Terrence Jones

Sophomore Terrence Jones is bringing a noticeable zeal to workouts, UK Coach John Calipari said on Wednesday.
Calipari noted how Jones is running better and shooting better.
“A light went on and he wants this and he’s chasing it,” Calipari said of Jones. “He wants to be special.”

Kentucky freshman Kyle Wiltjer made a good impression on NBA superstar Kevin Durant, UK Coach John Calipari said on Wednesday.
“That kid can play,” Calipari said he was told by Durant.

Cal likens Kidd-Gilchrist to Liggins

In speaking to the Kentucky Tip-Off Luncheon, UK Coach John Calipari likened freshman Michael Kidd-Gilchrist to DeAndre Liggins.
“If you thought DeAndre played hard, wait till you see this guy,” said Calipari, who noted that Kidd-Gilchrist had blocked seven shots in a practice.

In what sounded like a standard story for the rubber-chicken circuit, UK Coach John Calipari said that during the recruiting process Anthony Davis expressed a desire to play shooting guard.
Not wanting to lose the prospect, Calipari agreed.
Then the UK coach added, “I want you to know we post up our shooting guards a lot.”

“I’ll be disappointed if we win the national championship and no one is drafted,” he said.
