I love how a team that got shut out on it's home field is still claiming to be the better team. You keep saying that if Hazard scores every time that they got in the red zone then they would have won easily. It is easy for a fan to say that about their team and disregard what the other team did. Don't forget Somerset had the ball in the red zone 3 times themselves and came away with no points--a missed field goal, a botched hold on another field goal and an interception. If the Briar Jumpers convert those into touchdowns then they win 35-0, would Hazard have been claiming to be the better team then? Both teams made mistakes in the red zone but several of those mistakes were caused by the defenses. I will agree that Hazard has more depth of quality at the skill positions. I don't think they have anyone as good at receiver as Storm Wilson but they are better at the other receiver spots. I don't think they have anyone at running back better than Alex Lange but they have 2-3 kids that are very close and maybe just as good. However, Somerset won the game up front--both on offense and defense. That is one big reason that Somerset was able to keep Hazard out of the end zone the whole game. Hazard was able to make some nice plays between the 20's, particularly on the long ball. When they got inside the 20 however they simply could not run the ball on the Briar Jumpers and Somerset was able to get enough pressure on the quarterback to force some bad throws--including the interception. In the second half the Briar Jumpers were able to run the ball much better on the Bulldogs. The running game was what enabled Storm to get single coverage on his touchdown. Somerset had been gouging Hazard on the ground on that drive and eventually they pulled enough people in the box so that Lange could get the ball to Wilson over the top. Also, at least a couple of the fumbles and dropped passes were caused by big hits by the Briar Jumpers--it wasn't like they were just laying it on the ground. Having discipline is part of being a good team as well--Hazard certainly was lacking there last night. It takes more than just having the better athletes to have the better team. I will give you that Hazard was overall more athletic at the skill positions last night. However, they were not more physical, more disciplined, better conditioned or better coached--it takes all of the above to be the better team. The scoreboard doesn't lie.

Offensively you tell me what stood out for Somerset last night? They had a screen play the first half on a 3rd down that was very impressive and they grinded it out with a tough running game and mixing in a few pass in the 2nd half. One offensive touchdown from a team that was putting up 30-40 points in its first two games. I must say those two games was against quality opponents as well and to be cut down to one touchdown is a big difference.
That statement for there team, I have no team and just a spectator as i graduated from PCC and not Hazard . Yes both teams did make turnovers in the redzone and yes if both of these convert it as well could of been that way. I also never disregard anything that somerset did as I have not once said like ive seen on here about the refs with calling this and that. I give credit were it was due and no one can say I didnt.
I agree Wilson is an Excellent Reciever but to say Hazard has no one as good as wilson is way off base because Hazard returned 3 recievers from last there that had big time yardage in Olinger, Combs and Johnson. I will say this though about Storm Wilson he is very elusive and fast and that makes him dangerous to take it to the house at anytime. Now to Lange the QB , He needs to stay at the running back position because hes more of a runner than a passer but I go agree to let him QB in the red zone because the ball is always in a playmakers hands.
Somersets touchdown was perfect like you said as they set hazard up for a little play action and got the reciever behind the defense for the touchdown.
I agree Somerset won the game on better coaching,defense, displine.

I do want to ask you a question from last year and would like an honest answer. Do you think you was the better team last year against Belfry?
